| Our beginnings are best described in the words of Raquel The Health Project (not the Clinic) started with MERUNAS organization and I was part of them, I personally worked with them since 1994 and my father was the head of this organization, in that time MERUNAS used to receive finances from Tear Fund from England for the Health Project until 1999. However with the years gone this Project stopped because Tear Fund finished with the financial support and the Human resources left the project, so the Project was sinking nearly to disappear and die! After I married with Max in December 1999 and with the help of some friends in England and your precious help, we raised up this project in the name of ASOCIACION VIDAS or VIDAS ASSOCIATION from this circumstances! the Lord spoke to our hearts to carry on this work. So we are the supporters of the Clinic in Quinua! So until now the Lord has been so faithful to us!! Not only with the Clinic also in the Education area and Bible School , so this work is expanding!! However the glory is for our Lord!! | Vidas Association Who are we? Vidas Association, or LIFE association was founded in the 1990's to help the poor quechua living in the high mountains. Many indians migrated to the large towns an cities, and their needs are met by other organisations. The driving force and management is supplied by Max and Raquel who are both local Quechua Indians. Raquel was educated in England and has a very good knowledge of English, speaks Spanish that being the national language, and also quechua, the language of the Indians throughout Peru. She is married to Max Yupanqui, who is a Pentecostal minister with a church in Ayacucho. He is very busy with church work leaving Raquel to be the driving force to run the projects and seek out funding. She is an accomplished musician and with her band had made CDs to raise funds for the association. Their driving force comes from a desire to propagate the word and the love of our Lord among the most disadvantaged people in Peru.
